Learn and play mahjong in Asturias

We are the Asturias Mahjong Association. We organize games, classes and demonstrations. You do not need to know how to play.

What is mahjong

Mahjong is a tile game for four players. Each player tries to build a winning hand of 14 tiles. You play it with strategy, memory and a little luck.

Mahjong is also a mind sport. It is one of the six games that the IMSA recognizes, together with chess, bridge, draughts, go and xiangqi. Read more.

Chinese competition rules. Each hand scores points for its patterns. It is the main variant of the Spanish Federation.

Japanese rules. It is the style of video games and anime. It has a fast pace and a lot of defense.

We know both variants. We teach the one you prefer. See the comparison in Learn.

We play the Spanish Mahjong League (opens in a new tab) from Asturias. The league uses the online platform Mahjongsoft (opens in a new tab). It also accepts games played in person. Read more in Federation and clubs.

We do not have a fixed venue yet. We are organizing the first games in Gijón. Join the WhatsApp group to learn the dates first.
